These teachers are going on a trip in July to Europe. We will enjoy cuisine and have an overnight train ride. We're going to Paris and Rome. The registration fee ($95) is due next month, and I can pay that. The problem arrives when I saw the plane, food, hotel, train, etc. cost was ($4317). That money is due March 1st, and I have no clue how to raise that much money in five months. Advice, please?

If it is for a trip try to think of something you can offer that you could get sponsered for. Maybe a couple companies can sponser you and you can write an article in the school paper about your trip and that those companies sponsered you on the trip. Think outside the box. Talk to a restaraunt about your problem and see if they will do a fundraiser for you. You could have people go out to dinner and some of the proceeds go towards your trip. I am sure you can do it. Really $4317 is not that much when you try something like this. I had to do it twice in my life, once to get to DC for a school trip and another to get to a football trying in Vegas, which allowed me to get professional tryouts.

I don't know about your state but many states now have money back when you recycle. You can recycle people's old cans, it is amazing how quickly that kind of money adds up. You can sell chocolate bars. You can see what kind of fund raisers your school plans to put on to help people who cannot get all of the funding. You can write a letter to your local newspaper. You can help out your neighbors, cutting the grass, doing odd chores. You can see what you can do to help your parents out, they might be able to help you more than you know. There are ways to do it, but it is going to take work, and probably just about every weekend between now and then... also you might want to ask for money instead of Christmas/holiday presents this year to go twards the trip.

If you really want to go, talk to your parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles... all family... see if they will give you the money.

If they will not just give it to you, then try to convince your parents that you will pay them back if they have the extra money. If you do this, then PAY THEM BACK.

Get a job at the salvation army if you can (am not sure of the age requirements)

one thing that you will want to get asap if you are sure that you are going is a passport... don't come down to the day that you are leaving and say, oops!.. you will need about 1-6 months to get one... start asap... you can get the paperwork at the post office, and kinkos will take the photo for you, or you can send one in with the forms.

I suggest you all get together and have fundraisers; bake sales, since Christmas is coming you could sell holiday items, candy, etc. When I was in high school, we worked our tails off to raise money for a trip and it was worth it.
