I agree, I don't get it. Clinton was the first Dem president to serve 2 complete terms since FDR, who gave us most of the social programs that make life liveable. Then the Reps had to destroy his 2nd term and not let him get anything done because he was too busy defending himself because he couldn't keep his dick in his pants. I don't know what that had to do with the fact that he was a great president, but what are you going to do. It takes almost no time for the Republicans to destroy the economy. Under Clinton we had a huge surplus, before 1 yr was out, Bush had a huge defecit. Duh I do not get why anyone who does not earn at least $1mil a year would ever vote Rep. Let's kick the assholes out in November.

If a democrat becomes president soon, and can improve quality of life while still respecting property rights, I'll grant your statement is correct.
The working hypothesis is that the world has changed and labor around the world is cheaper (blue and white collar). Only executive class is benefitting from this, and pay differentials are increasing. If your opinion does not consider the opening of Chinese and Indian labor markets, I think you are missing an important piece of the puzzle.

Personall the Republican party has went to shambles since the late nineteenth century...supporters of their system deny it frequently...read up on Foley and Hastert recently...lol...anyway they like to blame other political parties for their shortfalls and as a democrat we like to sit back and watch them ruin their reputations. Not only that but how much legislation has been changed to accomodate Republican interests...such a shame...It will take a great conflict to break the resolve of ruthless Republicans and for them to admit they are wrong on all level. The US will begin to embrace the democratic ideals of the better party.
P.S. whatever statistic that shows the Republicans have brought more jobs to the US may be factual, but um employment is well below what it should and has been...

Hmmm...can I get some of that hippie lettuce your chewin' on?
1932, FDR is elected, the onset of the Great Depression, 25% unemployment (or higher), the Dust Bowl era, mass starvation and poverty, the economy is in tatters, suicides and divorces or abandoned marriages are rampant. The solution? 1941, Pearl Harbor, 4 years of war. FUN STUFF!
1962, Cuban Missile Crisis, the country pees in its collective pants while squatting under their kitchen tables, waiting for JFK to call Khruschev's bluff. A year later, JFK has his head blown open and a nation finally succumbs to the Vietnam conflict and another 53,000 dead. FUN STUFF!
1979, inflation is in double digits, home affordability is at an all time low, Carter is asking us to use more blankets, wear more sweaters and buy gas on Tuesdays and Saturdays if our license plate ends in even numbers. Iran takes scores of Americans hostage, our rescue mission crashes in the desert, Three Mile Island goes haywire, FUN STUFF!
1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2000, domestic and foreign elements terrorize the US and US interests abroad, servicemen are dragged through the streets of Somalia, Clinton tucks his tail between his legs and sends bombers over Kosovo to look tough while getting his hummer on. Our response to the 1993 WTC and 1998 African embassy bombings is three poorly placed missiles that hurt no one worth hurting. The internet bubble bursts loudly and painfully. The Supreme Court and high-priced attorneys urinate all over our election process and the losing candidate whines and moans and grows a beard, while strangely eager aviation students practice jet landings and box-cutting maneuvers as Arafat laughs at Barak and Clinton and tells them to go pound sand, leading to more bloodshed and terrorism in years to come. FUN STUFF!
Your life may be bleak and hopeless, because you attach it to things you have no control over. I feel the same when the Yankees lose, but I get over it, so should you. It's not the Republicans that are the problem, or the Democratics. It's lazy, bitter Americans who look to blame rather than lead, who sap the political and patriotic will and energy from a once-proud nation whose in the midst of the worst and most pathetic political food fight in the history of our nation. As we all know, food fights are messy, wasteful and pointless, as is your comment on your life under Republican or Democratic governance.

They didn't let you know they were sending the good jobs out of the country or selling off as much of America as they could. They are both scum, taking Legal Americans tax dollars to give to illegals and sending legal Americans to war to die, while giving the country away to Mexico. People aren't smart enough to fight while we still have a chance.

Economy and peace/war are cyclical. Don't kid yourself -- Clinton rode a wave created by his predecessors -- Just like Bush is cleaning up a mess created before he got into office. Granted, he might not (or he might) be handling it just how it should be, but that's how it goes. And, the person after Bush will deal with the issues he created.

LOL.....You are being led by the nose by the media. Employment is at an all time high. We are breaking records on the stock market. More people are home owners during this administration. I think your problem is that you are watching too much television.

Because we like to steal and make the poor people suffer while our rich corporate friends get richer. And yes, we like to invade countries for no apparent reason. That is the republican way. Get used to it bucko!

Get a job, and you'll do great. You won't be depressed and bleak.
Just say to hell with welfare, and go to work.
Wages are up, the economy is booming, and the future looks good:
UNLESS THE PINKO DEMOCRATS TAKE OVER CONGRESS.
Now, that would be depressing and bleak for all working people.

Because you have no life if you judge how good or how bad your life is by what majority is in Washington. Although my life has improved alot since Bush has been in office. Not because he did anything to improve it, but because I made the changes in my life to improve it.
