Nope - sorry.
It will take you ages to get out from Heathrow into the city (Heathrow to Central London by tube is atleast an hour each way) and with current situation it will take u ages to get back thru security (esp since yours is an international flight)

If you have a stop over in London fo six hours, you need to get from the airport, probably Heathrow into the center of London, you will need to get the Heathrow Express which will take you 25 minutes from Terminal 4 and will cost around £27 GBP return.
The best thing when you get to Paddington is jump on an open bus tour, which stop around the area and see London that way and may be have a river tour before returning to the airport, you dont have long in this great city but my suggestion means you will see a lot.
You will regret not staying longer.

I've done the same (only I had twelve hours)... Take The Tube into London! Go straight to Soho (Piccadilly Circus- I think. Just check-out the map)... Remember- Allow for about 45 minutes Tube Travel time to and from Heathrow International... You should have a good three hours to spend walking around London... Everything's fairly easy to get to and close together... I was able to see Buckingham Palace, St. James' Park, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, and eat/shop down in Soho... Have fun!!! London is gorgeous...

Here's what I think you should do. Take the tube (subway) to Westminster. You can see Big Ben, Parliament, and then walk over the bridge over the Thames to the London Eye (Millennium Wheel), the second largest in the world (China just made a bigger one). The wheel is really stable and feels completely safe. You will get a 45 minute trip and from the top you will see an amazing view of London.
Then get back on the tube and head back to the airport. You should be back with plenty of time.

I think your best bet would be to fill up on some traditional fish and chips near the airport. The flight to India is going to be long, indeed.
If you manage to get to a museum, or Saint Paul's, or just start exploring London, you will never make it to India.
Best to continue scoping out the situation, but London needs a vacation of its own. Put it on a wish list for the near future and you will not be disappointed.
I'll take it over Frisco, LA, New York, or Paris anytime. Great city...make time for it when you have time.
