Cheese doesn't work. Buy standard traps -- not the one with the yellow plastice cheese. Bait = pieces of Reese's peanut butter cups. They love this stuff.

A study was just released that showed that mice don't like cheese at all, it isn't a part of their diet, and they don't recognize it as food. Mice like sweet things and peanut butter works well. Something with a lot of aroma will attract mice. I guess you could also go get a cat, since cats catch mice. Just be sure to get the dead mouse out of the house ASAP because they will really stink up the place.

Mice will eat anything they can I recommend getting the wood old fashioned snap traps and putting peanut butter on it if you put an item they can knock off the trap they will find a way. Mice are more crafty than one would think, peanut butter needs to be licked off and hence they will need to get on the trap. Cheese goes bad to fast outside of the fridge. also put the traps where you find their droppings, they usually return to where they know is safe.

Mice are stereotyped as loving cheese immensely. While this is probably true, they are also attracted to other foods as well. If you don't have any cheese around, I've heard peanut butter works well for small rodents. Cracker crumbs would probably work too. Good luck!

They'll look for anything to eat other than cheese. They're also looking for someplace to live.
