Depends on your eyesight. If you have a simple glasses prescription, soft contacts will probably work well for you. You can get disposable lenses these days which mean you don't have to clean and sterilize the lenses any more.

On the other hand, if you are older and need bi-or tri-focal lenses, contacts will probably not work for you. Although there are relatively new bifocal lenses available, they are expensive and don't have sufficient history to give them a good or bad rating.

If you have astigmatism, then you would need toric lenses; these are not usually available as day-wear, so you would have to clean them etc.

Once you are used to popping them in and out, they really aren't much trouble. For flying though, you'd be better with glasses; and in general anywhere the air is dry, contacts can be a problem.

Some people can't wear either hard or soft lenses for a number of reasons - your doctor will give you some practice lenses to try for a week or two to see how you get on with them. These are just plain plastic, so you still need to wear your glasses while you are trying them out.

This depends on the individual
Some people claim that they can feel them and that they are irritating and other find them to be fine. They are not all that inconvenient, but if you lose one, they are hard to find once they are on the floor etc. They are no better or no worst than a good pair of glasses. Most people wear them because of looks and others because they can not wear glasses at a certain job such as when diving under water and at activity's where they might slip off etc.
So it's really a matter of taste and you will only know if they are going to be uncomfortable by wearing them and giving your self a chance to get used to them.
They now have lens that are disposable which makes it more convenient because you don't have to worry about cleaning.

I put on touch lenses in the course of the day and glasses the very first thing within the morning and at night time.My eye surgeon instructed me that dressed in glasses, even a little bit bit,is well for the eyes given that they get activity.

as long as you keep them clean it shouldn't be a problem.
When you first get them , you may have problems putting them on specially when put your finger close to your eye.I have worn contacts over 20 years and you never know if you have them on unless they dry out or get dirty.
