Be careful with that patch. I read something recently that they're doing a study now to see if there's an increased risk in women developing blood clots that are on the patch as opposed to the Pill. I first went on the Pill back in 1990 and although I gained some slight weight (a couple of pounds, which I then lost right away) unlike some lucky women, I never gained my weight in my boobs! :( I haven't had any increased weight since I've been on, but I do know that when I was switched to a different brand or dosing, I had problems with some side effects so I went back to my original dosing and I've been fine.

Yes you do gain weight from birth control, your doctor should have talked to you about that. He/she should have told you about ALL the positive things and ALL the negative things about birth control!! How could your doctor not tell you, that answer should have already been answered by your doctor, and theres no need for you to be asking on here...whatever weigh you gain tho is not so much just a few pounds more...

Some people do, some don't. I find that I gain weight more easily than I did off birth control, but I didn't pack on the pounds when I started taking it. Honestly, my big issue with birth control is that it makes me queasy, rather than it increases weight. With most women, it's only about five pounds anyways.

No I'm not on birth control, and yes it makes you gain weight. That's why I stopped taking it 13 years ago, and also because I smoke cigarettes, which increases your risk of developing blood clots while on the pill. I stick to other forms of birth control that are safer for me.

never tried the patch, you have to be carefull with different types of birth control. Because it can cause you to have problems later in life, when you could be ready to have children. and yes you can gain weight, but not everyone does.

Yes, some women do. Birth control contains hormones, and some of those hormones increases your appetite. So the doctor suggest that if you do see an increase in your appetite then eat something low in fat. But it also made my butt and boobs bigger!!!
