If you don't take it daily and preferrably at the same time every day, you are asking for breakthrough bleeding. If you miss a pill, the next day you can take two. But you may still have bleeding. If the bleeding happens regardless, you might want to change your pills cause they may not be strong enough for you. It takes your body a couple months to adjust, but i would be careful, cause if this does not regulate you have a high chance of becoming pregnant. Best advice: talk to your doc.

yeah I get that too when I've missed. Sometimes it helps to go off of the pill for the rest of the week and start up again at the beginning of next week and let the unexpected period happen. Otherwise I feel sick for the entirety of the period, and it lasts longer than it's supposed to. The dark brown is just that it's old blood that's coming out instead of the fresh stuff you're supposed to get in your regular cycle. It's been stuck to the inside of your uterus for longer. Your period probably won't be as heavy either. Don't worry! Tho you really should start taking your pill at the same time e ery day; it's better on your body.

Since you have so much trouble in forgetting when to take pills, have you thought of alternate b.c. methods? Such as the IUD (Intrauterine Contraceptive Device), or the injections from the doctor which last a whole month? They also make a pill that you take constantly every day that just does away with periods completely. When you're ready to have a baby, then you just quit taking them. It sounds like you have a problem taking pills right, though. I'd see my Obstetrician/Gynecologist, GP, or Internist and ask him/her about suggestions for proper treatment. You can't trust much of any advice you get off an Internet site; you should see a real human face-to-face.

the birth control will mess up your hormones cycle. if you missed one, then it has either caused you not have the usual amount that it would of had, had say you took them like your supposed to. sometimes taking birthcontrol pills makes you bleed even more. I suggest getting the parvo,( I think thats what its called. ) shot instead. then you wont have a period for 3 months. and you wouldnt have to worry whether or not you took the pill.. It tooke me 2 years after I stopped taking the pill to even get pregnant again. and I didnt use any birth control the whole time. It made my hormones go out of whack, and became inbalanced causing me tumors in my breasts. I dont recommend the birth control pill to anyone.
my own experience, yours could be different as it is in every woman.

The first birth control pill I was on, I had taken for 4 months and bled between periods each month so I stopped that. The one I am on now I've missed like 1 day before and taken it the next day and never bled, but I have bled for a couple days when I missed 3 days(which has never happened, I was just so busy) I used to take mine at the same time each day and just aren't able to anymore. And that was the only time I bled between periods when I missed a few days instead of just one. Keep taking them and if you bleed again next month between(without missing one) then I would switch pills. I'm not sure what your taking now but I'm on Levlen, it gets sent to me in the mail for $39.99 for 3 months, through www.smartwomanrx.com.

HEY! IM NOT TRYING TO BE MESN OR EVEN MAKE YOU QUESTION YOUR MAN, BUT WHEN I HAD THAT EXACT THING HAPPEN TO ME IT WAS A SIGN THAT I HAD AN INFECTION IN MY BODY. JUST BECAUSE YOU MISS A PILL YOU SHOULDN'T BLEED BUT IF MORE THAN ONE MAYBE SO. ANYWAY WHEN IT HAPPEND TO ME 4YRS AGO MY NURSE TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD A INFECTION. SURE ENOUGH I DI AND IT WAS BECAUSE MY BF(@THAT TIME) WAS CHEATING ON ME AND BROUGHT AN INFECTION TO ME. NOW HOWEVER THIS MAY NOT BE YOUR CASE IT COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE BUT IF I WERE YOU I WOULD GO TO THE DOCTOR AND SEE WHY YOU HAD A BREAK THROUGH BLEEDING SO SOON. LET THEM EXAMINE YOUR BODY AND I HOPE ALL GOES WELL.
