theres a set episodes made for every season...so if they made 20 episodes, after those 20 episodes are done its the end of the season. it's not a year....what i dont get is why before every episode of project runway they say its a new season!

well a season depends on the show, but it usually is around the same for all shows
it's bettern 15-25 taped shows. And then (depends on their contracts), the production team and actors get a specific time off from production
usually shows seasons start on september through april
but some shows are special (like american idol is from january to april because of it's voting and different levels. So you think you can dance is a summer show, also because of the levels that exist in the competition)

No the season is usually about 14-16 shows.

Local shows (from ABC, CBS, Fox, etc.) usually have 20+ (sometimes even up to 24) episodes per season. Cable shows (from HBO, Showtime) usually have 9-13 episodes per season.
