Everyone has different standards, don't worry about what other think is acceptable, I was a teen when I got prego, it was the best thing that ever happened to me, I changed my life completely and have spent the past 7 yrs. making her life the best I could. I have worked and sacrificed day after day, my parents have never baby sat my child and never will, it was my choice to have the kid and something they were against. I have never borrowed money from them either any teenager that has a baby needs to take care of it or give it up for adoption. But being 17 and living on your own and working to pay all your bills, trying to get an education, and takeing care of a baby is EXTREMELY hard. I wish I had waited, just so I would have all the schooling out of my way and have a good job and education so I could of given her a better life.

Well, unless they have a very good reason, no. They should be focusing on school, their career, friends. I don't think parenthood is a smart or responsible choice. Who would care for the child? Their parents? They would be making a huge, unnecissary obstacle not only for their parents, but for the child as well. It's just not worth it. They should wait until they're old enough to be able to care for the child at all times, and have a partner who they trust and love. It's not fair to the child to just have a baby and then abandon it. That's cruel. An innocent child doesn't deserve that.

And I'm sorry, but I must disagree with what someone said above; not all teenagers are irresponsible and selfish. That's very ignorant. Adults make mistakes, they act immature, they act selfish, they make irresponsible choices. Although some are filled with more knowledge, that doesn't take away their flaws.

Did you know that the mother of Jesus was 14 when she gave birth to Him? But in today's society in the US having babies is better if the mother and father are both 20 years of age or older. Maybe 30 would be the best age. Better to get more mature before having a baby. Better have your education / training out of the way first. Better to have a good job started followed by a solid marriage before having your first baby.

Yes I think it is acceptable. But I don't think it is acceptable for them to have sex... If that makes sense. Basically I don't think that teenagers should be having sex but if the happen to get pregnant then I would want them to have the baby or give it up for addoption. Never throw a baby away. They are too precious.

No way. It should not be part of any modern culture to have a baby at so young an age. It cheats the teenager(s) involved and it cheats the baby.

No! Parents need to have more communication w/ their children & be open minded & not judgemental. Children need self esteem, guidence, honesty, & someone to talk to. Girls need to know that getting pregnant will not keep their man or fill a void. And guys need to know to always wear a condom, girls will trick them & say they're on the pill to get pregnant by them. Teenagers are too young & are irresponsible & selfish, they are raising wild & troubled kids, that is, if they are the ones raising them.

Things happen and life moves on. Encourage those who are teens to act appropriately. Don't put down the ones who made the mistakes. Instead help them teach the younger ones.

No! Teens have no business having kids. They shouldn't be having sex either. Sex and babies are for married adults only!
