I am 36 weeks preg. I am having contractions like crazy. I went to the hospital two nights ago and they gave me medicine to stop them and they couldnt get them to stop. So they gave me ambien and told me to go home and get sleep. They checked me and said that I was thinning out and soft but had not dilated yet. However my cervix was already in position for labor. I am still having the contractions, sometimes really bad, but now I have this terrible urge to throw up and my stomach is hurting like I have diarrhea. Is this a sign that I am going into labor? I had a friend tell me once she threw up she went straight into labor, so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this before? and if you have how much longer did it take before you went into active labor?

Call your doctor tell them what's going on i had my 1st at 36 weeks they did not try to stop that labor 37 weeks is full term. my 36 week baby was FINE 7 pounds no problems at all. My doctor said he don't stop labor after 36 weeks.

Well, I didnt have any labor signs before labor. I woke up one morning and my water had broken while I was sleeping. I was up maybe an hour and a half and had slight contractions and then started to throw up..which soon after turned into dry heaves. The contractions just got stronger and stronger. I don't remember feeling like I was going to have diahrrhea. I just knew it was time and it hurt like hell. Good luck!

Honey, are you having Braxton-Hicks contractions? If so, just stay off your feet! Keep your feet up and make everyone you know wait on you hand and foot. LOL! 36 weeks is a bit early to me but not deadly for you or the baby. Don't worry so much. If you have that baby right now, it will most likely be just fine and so will you. Talk to your doc. Talk to your doc. Congratulations Mommy! :) By the way, after morning sickness, I threw up right after I had my little daughter Mariah Jean and believe it or not, I also had an orgasm. Funny, huh? Don't worry so much. If you are doing all the right, natural things, you will be just fine. ((((Sheri))))

it is a very good possibility that you could go into labor any day the way it sounds. I had my first child at 36 weeks and my labor was 32 hours long

sounds like labor to me, what do you consider active labor, if your cervix are thinning then that is active, real contractions start in your back and then come into your abdomen go to babycenter.com and you can check your symptoms
