In today's society, you cannot trust anyone. If you are refering to sex offender issues, the stanger danger issue is used to help pass laws to get votes.
The sex offender residency laws do NOT protect anyone, they are a false sense of security. If a person is committed to harming a kid, they'll get in their car and drive somewhere.
Most sex offenses occur with someone the person knows, a majority is a family member.
Stranger Danger is only used to bring fear into peoples minds. The whole world is crazy and we have a bunch of lunatics, so you need to be weary of everyone these days.
And yes, most sex offences occur with someone they know.

Myth – Strangers are lurking at school bus stops or around playgrounds looking for children to molest.
Fact – The politicians, and some in the media, want you to believe in the stranger danger myth. The fact is that, according to the U.S. Dept. of Justice, American Psychological Association, the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, and other experts; children are abused by a family member or someone trusted by the family in around 90 percent of all the cases.
