EVERYONE keeps talking about the "LIBERAL MEDIA" but apparently the young pages went to several papers (Miami Herald and others) and several local tv stations and they refused to report what the kids were saying because it was against the republican party.

Gee I don't think it has anything to do with the party but the media does a lot of horse trading with the government. Yeah they are in bed together for the most part but like the cops they are always making deals. (you give us this and we won't print that) You know I have always found D.C. more of a sin city that New Orleans. Politics is all about control so why should it stop at sex?

Look, the mainstream media has a liberal bias in almost all cases. Liberal-bias tends to include news/coverage/editorial that is 'juicy', 'sexy', 'intriguing', 'captivating', 'counter-traditional', etc etc, it SELLS ADVERTISING, it's not bible-thumping or apple pie bakeoffs. The fact they sat on this makes no sense to me, especially as Democratic congressional sources also new of these messages and said/did nothing til, ohhh, just before election day.

Who cares about Foley? We're at war, the economy's future is in doubt, the nation's hospitals and schools are in tatters because of over population and under education. We're short on nurses, short on benefits for the disabled and elderly, short on brain power outside those amazing scientific circles that work on theoretical stuff that is only good enough for awards, but may have little practical use for mankind. We're in trouble, deep trouble, and handwringing and bellyaching over Foley or Frank or Holloway or Peterson or the next scandal of the week simply takes very important focus away from very important issues.

If you bother with the mainstream media, you are looking to be entertained, not informed. One congressman's indiscretions shouldn't pollute our focus and vision on what's important: Economy, Foreign Policy, National Security. That's it. Start there, clean up and improve, then go after the low hanging scum like Foley.

No, because it was between consenting adults 18 and Foley. Where was your surprise and outrage over Barney Franks and in 1983, Democratic congressman Gerry Studds? Were you similarly outraged or are you just a liberal hypocrite?
