We are spoiling our children. We are making them weak. They expect what they have instead of appreciating it. Everything today is instant. Technology has enabled us to obtain the comforts of life with little effort. With little effort comes little appreciation, and respect. And i am just as guilty as any other parent.

I do not think that luxuries are spoiling the youth, it is the parents giving their children everything they ask for or if they do'nt the parents are the ones' that get a verbal lashing from their kids.
We live in a very fast paced world with technology and all, but it would be a shame to lose the ability to have a conversation, with another person. I believe that children should learn to work for things, someone is not always going to be there to hand them things, then what/ Another wasted youth?

I think certain luxuries spoil youth to the extent that they are lazy. Not hard workers at all. The ones I've known all my life are incredibly unreliable. When they're faced with a difficult situation, there's always someone to bail them out. It's like they... don't obtain any knowledge through life... they're just here for the ride.

In the same respects; I always found that I am quite happy not growing up a spoiled brat or even...not making millions . I work hard for the things I have AND because I've worked hard for them, I appreciate them more.

Kids are spoiled because you can't whip their azzes anymore without going to prison. You get them in a freakin' Walmart and God forbid you get within 50 feet of the toy section. All hell breaks loose, and the kids know they will get away with it because the parent can't and won't do anything. Kids are also spoiled because they don't have to work for a freaking thing their whole lives because mommy and daddy handed them everything growing up, thinking all the while by showering their kids with their every desire they somehow were providing a better life for thier kid(s) than their parents provided for them. You know the old saying...someday when I have kids mine are going to have it soooo much better than I do now?!?!? Yea right. Kid's attitudes are so f--ked up these days it's unreal. I mean, it is totally BELOW most 16 year old kids these days to work at Mcdonalds. I mean, when I was that age, to work at Mcdonalds you had to wear some dorky looking polyester outift and look like a goofball in front of all your friends. Now you can practically wear your street clothes to work and they still won't do it. Look at all the Mexicans in this country today....do you know who used to do all of that manual labor back in the day??? You guessed it....high school kids. They won't do that crap anymore...too much like work...they might break a freakin' nail. I'm tellin ya folks, if this attitude doesn't change I don't give a damn what party is in office this country is doomed!!!!

Many people just hand things to their children without making them work for it. I think if you spoil your children, it will hurt them more when they want something they can't have. They won't know how to handle it, you know? But letting them earn things and privileges will help them figure out that some things are obtainable with a little hard work and some things are nearly impossible. Knowing the difference makes things much easier, in my opinion.

Computers have put youth in front of the computer screen to do their home work instead of looking it up it text books.
Youth spend hours listening to music on ipods instead of listen to the radio.
Cars are encouraning kids to ride every where instead of ealking.

America's youth is becoming overweight and lazy because of all of these advancements.
