her favourite 'romantic song' is 'God only Knows' by the beach boys, but she's not a great beach boys fan.
I'm looking to make up a mix CD, to play as background music on a romantic journey - so about 12 - 15 track suggestions

Wind beneath my wings
Bridge over troubled water
Lady in red
Circle of life
Thank you ( for the best years of my life
Are you lonesome tonight
wont let the sun go down on me
The long and winding road
I will always love you
Hurry home
Will you still love me tomorrow
Crazy

If her favorite song is God Only Knows, then I'm sure she would love the entire Pet Sounds album as it deals almost entirely with love, while their earlier and later stuff is more about surfing and what have you.

Two other recomendations are...
1. The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
2. 69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields

"Wouldn't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys! It's Lucy's favorite song in the movie, 50 First Dates ... And "Love Song" by 311! They actually covered the song; it was originally by The Cure, but I like the 311 version better. Here are the lyrics ... simple but nevertheless romantic:

"Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away, I will always love you
However long I stay, I will always love you
Whatever words I say, I will always love you
I will always love you

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away, I will always love you
However long I stay, I will always love you
Whatever words I say, I will always love you
I will always love you"

And of course you could always go for the classics ... such as "Just The Way You Look Tonight ..." and how about something fun with an 80's song? Try "Strict Machine" by Goldfrapp; it's a lovely song that's somewhat up-tempo. Also, here's a foreign song suggestion: "The Myth (Endless Love)" by Jackie Chan and Kim Hee Seon from the movie, The Myth ... Also, if she happens to enjoy R&B ... try "Tru Love" by Faith Evans from her The First Lady album; I think it's a very sweet, slow, and mellow song, and "Just Want To Be Your Girl" by Teedra Moses is also a wonderful, romantic song. And also ... how about ... Carpenters? Try "Close To You;" I love that song! And Gloria Estefan may also be appropriate for her age =^^= And also, try "One In A Million" or other romantic Aaliyah songs, such as the catchy "Are You That Somebody?," "I Care 4 U," and "Come Over." Ohemgee, and had to add this ... "Diary" by Alicia Keys! Seriously a great song! Other Alicia songs are romantic too ... like "If I Ain't Got You" and "You Don't Know My Name" or "Unbreakable." And also ... try "I Need A Girl Part I" by P. Diddy f/ Usher and "I Need A Girl Part II" by P. Diddy f/ Mario Winans and Ginuwine. They probably sound iffy, but they are really nice songs, I swear. <333

Unforgettable, the one where Nat King Cole has his daughter singing duet with him. This one's kinda up tempo, but I love the words, Roy Orbison's , You got it. Be warned though, I have been told my music sucks.
