And I quote...

"Tobacco and Pregnancy:
If a mother smokes, the baby in the uterus gets less oxygen. This will harm the growth of the baby. Cigarette smoking as been linked to 20 to 30 percent of all low birth-weight babies in the United States. Low birth-weight is the second leading cause of infant deaths in this country."

-Cigarette smoking has been 'linked' to 20-30 % of LOW BIRTH -WEIGHT.
-LOW BIRTH-WEIGHT is the second leading cause of infant deaths.

Hello? 20-30% "chance" of a infant death in cigarette smokers....

Furthermore, and I quote,
"Tobacco and Breastfeeding:
According to La Leche League, for the mother who smokes 20 or FEWER cigarettes per day, the benifits of breastfeeding outweigh the health risks of transmitting nicotine to the baby in the breastmilk. However, the MORE cigarettes the mother smokes, the GREATER the risks to the baby. For a nursing mother who is unable to quit smoking, it is recommended that she smoke immediately after nursing her baby to reduce the amount of nicotine in her milk for the next feeding. Also, the baby should NOT be around ANY tobacco smoke."

-I obviously caped some words for greater effect.

My personal opinion, if you can quit, good. If not, cut back to as little as you can per day. There is always a possability of miscarriage, weather or not cigarette smoking is involved. I honestly would not worry about a couple of cigarettes a day.

A miscarriage can be caused by several things. From smoking to an injury in a car accident. Smoking as a whole is not good for the baby period. The child after they are born can suffer from respiratory problems and nicotine with draw. Smoking can even cause heart problems for the child. The best thing to do is give smoking. It can not only save the baby's life. It could save yours too.

If you can cut down to 1-2, you can quit. It has caused a significant number of miscarriages. It causes low birth weight. I saw on the news that some stupid people thought they should smoke so that the baby would be smaller and they would not feel so much pain. But Duh-the head is the biggest thing and it is going to be the size it is meant to be, no matter what the baby weighs.

Yeah even if u smoke "1" ur baby will be miscarriage

Its really important not to smoke when having a baby! If u can't handle that then u shouldn't have a baby (srry if i sound mean or sumthing) Like ur baby will be unhealthy and sad cause of u so DON"T SMOKE and quit! Also when da baby is born u shouldn't smoke nemore either!

These are the things u should "NOT" eat or drink when pregnant:

Cigarettes

Soy
Raw food
Drugs

Things u should eat more when prenant:

Anything you put in your body, smoking, drugs, alcohol, can cause problems with childbirth. Everyone is different as far as lifestyles are concerned. I would stop, at least for now just to be on the safe side.

You already know the answer. Cancer = health risks.
Sounds like you're still thinking about yourself.
If you want a child you have to put a lot of things aside.
It sucks, but I had to!
