The age where men really start to get into the settling down thing varies, doesn't it? But from 25 upwards seems to be the current trend now. I've always wanted to have kids from the age of 27 myself, which is 3 years away for me. But I've always been family-orientated, so a family of my own is my priority in life : )
It's at that age upwards that seems to be the most sensible age group for men to be settling down and having a family at this present time, what with a majority of us concentrating on careers or simply doing the things they want to do first - getting it out of their system as it were. But generally there should be no rush, as the man's maturity is an important factor surely, as is the woman's : )
But yes, fatherhood can and does change a man, if only a little, as their priorities do change with it. For me, it's around about that age that I feel more experienced, responsible and more sure of my values as a father to be able to pass on to my children. A great, sensible question, I love it!! Take care and have a good weekend.

That, my dear, would depend on how mature the man is. Mine was ready to get married after he graduated college. He wanted to wait a couple of years before we started a family, but didn't care if we would have conceived right after we were married. He's 27 now and ecstatic about our new arrival. (I'm 24 too.)
Each man is different, and you have to remember that you must decide what is best for you. If his ideals don't match with your own, settling down is never going to happen for the two of you in the way you want it to. It's important to communicate how you are feeling to him.

It's different for every man. Some men want them in their early 20's and some don't want them till they are around 40 or so. I think men change once the baby comes. My boyfriend at the time, now husband, melted when my son was born and well, we were 18 and 19 and the pregnancy was unplanned so he took it kind of rough but once my son was born he cried and really something hit him.

I've wanted kids since I was 12. didn't have my first till I was 26, just the luck of the draw because believe me I was trying. As for changes, well everyone changes when they become a parent some it's a good change, some it's not.

Usually into their late twenties and early thirties from my experience. Seems like women are ready to settle down much earlier than men. Of course there exceptions to every rule and some men want children much earlier.

I think 25 - 28 is a good age for guys to start having kids, that way they won't be too old to relate to current events and trends of their teenage kids.

Everyone is different, but I think most men are scared to actualy committ to a specific age to have children by. I think they are more for when it happens, it happens.
