As a boarding barn owner, I can tell you that our partial boarders feed their horse twice a day, in the morning and at night. In addition to feeding their horse they clean their stalls once a day, some twice a day. It is up to them on the stall cleaning. I guess It depends on wether you are pasture boarding or stall boarding. Pasture boarding would require you to feed the horse possibly once to twice daily.

You really shouldn't have to ask that question; you should want to be with your horse as much as possible. When you got a horse, it became your responsibility to make sure everything is ok with him or her everyday. Even if someone at the stable is feeding your horse, you still need to be there for grooming, cleaning the stall or just spending time with your horse. The more time you spend with your horse, the better you will communicate. I used to spend hours just brushing my horse and talking to him. We had 32 wonderful years together and I still miss him very much.

Depending on what you mean by part care. Your horse needs to be fed twice a day. And fresh water daily. I myself go and check my horses everyday, even if someone else is feeding and watering them for me. Since it is your horse you will spot changes in your horse faster and more thoroughly, then if someone else is caring for them. Most places that offer partial care don't really see your horse when they feed and water. They are more concerned with just getting the job done. Also if they are cleaning the pen you will never know if your horse is off his/her feed or if their stools are not as they should be. So you should check on your horse daily.

Only as oftain as the caregiver wishes. It depends on how much your paying them. The horse probably doesn't care one way or the other.
