Cold Turkey is best. Whoever told you smoking is not bad for you must have been smoking something else. Smoking is extremely harmful. My father smoked since he was 10 years old and recently had part of a lung removed due to cancer cells.
If you really want research on both sides of the fence try "Smoking from All Sides."

because you smoke that a lot accepted, your body were given adjusted having those poisons operating ur body. it truly is why those with better extreme drug complications can easily die by skill of quiting unexpectedly. You hav to take decrease your volume of cigarettes possibly each few weeks or inspite of you're mushy with. the reason why you've been coughing and stuff (tryign to no longer smoke) became because your body became so used to having 2-5 cigarettes an afternoon. So each and each week you ought to decrease slowly from 2-4cigarettes, then yet another few weeks, 2-3, then so on.

I gave up after reading Allen Carrs book.
I have only been a non smokers for approximately 4 months now.
Smoking has nothing good about it.
Who ever told that crap about it not being bad for you is probably a smoker who can't or won't give up.
Smoking will only kill you eventually.
You did so well quitting for a year and I understand that it will be really hard for you to try to stop again but.....hey........you did it once and you can do it again.
Don't use patches etc do it cold turkey and perhaps you can be a permanent non smoker and have more quality years.
I can't think of anything more horrifying than dying a slow and painful death through cancer.
When I get the urge I think about that part of it and try to picture myself in a hospital bed with tubes coming out of every orifice in my body and having my poor family watch me suffering.
Good luck in your next attempt.

This might be temporarily true to a degree. However, in the long haul, smoking is absolutely detrimental and destructive to every aspect of your health.
Try not to buy any lighters or matches. Do not light cigs off of a gas stove. Also, hold the smoking to outdoors. This might help you cut down on the 'impulsive' smokes and eventually lead to your quitting altogether.

After end stage heart and kidney failure 10 years ago I quit smoking using nicotine gum for 8 months. They said I never would have recovered if I hadn't quit even though it was a risky stratagy using the gum it was worth it and I'm fit now except for 3 high BP pills per day.

anyway, It will be three years on the 19th of this month. I quit by failing to quit 5 other times. I learned what to expect. I learned that you cant just smoke every now and then after you quit. set a date. quit. and never turn back. call yourself a non-smoker and consider that to be your way of life for the rest of it. there is nothing to gain from smoking only things to lose. get smart and do the right thing.

I don't think smoking will ever be good for us.
Ashamedly, I smoked for 33 years.
One day, 18 months ago, I was shoveling heavy snow with my 15 year old son, and I was wheezing and my chest hurt, and I cried out to God.
I said, "you have to take these things out of my life, because I LIKE to smoke, I WANT to smoke, and I'M GOING to smoke, because I am weak. Please help me"
Like I said, that was 18 months ago.
To God be the glory.

I have never smoked but my husband did until our daughter was born.
I challenged him to give up smoking because she would need her daddy to help her grow into a woman.
He stopped 2 weeks later and has never smoked again.
Our daughter will be 21 on Halloween.
You have to find something that motivates you and then just do it.

I smoke. I have tried giving up, but to be honest I don't really want to give up.
It is bad for you; every smoker knows it is bad for them.
I think I would have already quit smoking if it weren't for all the people that keep telling me to! Every time I hear some self-righteous prick going on about how bad it is for me, I just want to light up.
