as a product of an anonymous donor, i beg of you to not create a child who won't know their father or their siblings. it is hell to live a life of mystery, wondering if every man you pass on the street is "him" or if every person u date might be a sibling, and having to embarrassingly ask them what their fathers did when they were younger. the eldest of us that i know is in their 60s, and we are still being created. i know that the majority of us would rather have been created in ways other than this. it's not to say that we despise our parents, as we love them very much. but their inconsiderate decisions have created a good deal of pain for us, and it is their responsibilities too. most of us will never know who "he" is, or our siblings, despite all the efforts we make to find out. please, i ask you, look further into the situation of the offspring. and please message me back with whatever questions you may have, or if you want to know my story or the stories of others of us. there is so much i don't think is considered before creating a child who will never know half of themselves. remember, if you have that much love to give to a child...there are alternatives

My doctor told me that each couple has a 50% chance of a round of IVF working. I am in the process of my first IVF. As for the first answer: Only a person who had no trouble conceiving or doesn't want children of their own would answer like that. Until you have been in that situation, you don't know what you would do. Adoption is actually more expensive than IVF and it takes much longer.

I don't remember what the stats are as I almost went through an IVF, but under certain circumstances I had to opt for 2 (unsuccessful) IUI's instead (long story). I know several people who have had successful IVF's though I'm not sure how many they went through, but I know that they let their bodies rest in between cycles (it's a very stressful ordeal -- physically and emotionally). Actually, one of my friends just gave birth to a healthy baby girl this past July through IVF and my God-sister just gave birth to a healthy baby boy earlier this year through IVF. I did eventually get pregnant on my own 4 months after I stopped my fertility treatments, but I'm pretty sure that it had a hand in getting me pregnant (I never stopped one of my meds).
I wish you the best of luck and baby dust to you! :)

The first answer is nasty. Actually, my wife is undergo IVF now. This is her first time. It's very expensive and most insurance don't cover the cost. The success rate depends on the age. It's about 30-35% each time.

Hi there, I believe the success rate is around 25% with each round of IVF. It is quite expensive, however some insurance companies do cover the costs. Good luck.

I don't know about the percentage, but my aunt had 2 rounds. The first was unsuccesful and the 2nd created a little boy! I am all for it, if a couple wants a baby and is having trouble making one, go for it! That first answer was nasty and narrow minded. Good luck!

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

I just wanted to put in and say Good Luck after that rather narrow minded first answer. Luckily I didn't have to go that far trying to have a child, so I can't actually answer this. Good Luck to you, though.

I don't believe in IVF. If it's not meant to be then it's not meant to be. Instead of chancing it with treatments and all that, why not adopt? That money could go to saving a child's life rather than creating one.
