you will never get a clear answer, because people that have a pc, love pc and people that have mac, love mac. It's as simple as that, and they will both argue the to*s that the other one is better.!

Being tech in a large media organisation, I feel that I can answer this one.
ok With Dell's you get a lot of hardware problems so if you are going to get a dell make sure you get extended warranty. Problems come about from bad motherboards, ram, dodgy hard drives. Usually because dell gets what is cheap at the time..
They do replace them though which is good. and if you get a Dell, you get windows.. so if you ahve used windows and are comfortable with it and have no reason to change to mac.. then stick with the PC as it is cheaper and you dont need to keep calling a tech when you think you did something wrong on the mac.
on the otherhand, Macs are pretty. I use a mac at home.. but I utilise it a lot. It is great if you are into graphical stuff and video editing etc.. They are quite expensive though.. I find macs easy to use but what i suggest is.. try both.. try a windows computer and go to an apple store and play around with mac and see what you prefer.
Dell is cheaper.

A Mac is the best for what you describe. It is so easy to use. I have used both Mac and Windows and prefer the Mac overall. It is just easier to use and a much more intelligent machine. There are so many write ups on computers that recommend the Mac. And if you like to paint or draw on computers, you can't beat the Mac for that either.

Both have pros and cons. It really depends on what you plan to use it for. The only benefit to getting a Dell (windows compatible) is the pricetag (much cheaper) and easy availability of many applications. Apples are much easier to use for a novice. Also if you plan to surf the internet a lot, you can not get a virus! Let us know what kinds of stuff you're doing on your computer. Also think about getting a laptop instead of a desktop!

it depends on you some people prefer apple/mac because it simply isnt windows and has a better restart after crashes but this is because they are mainly scsi drives i could be wrong about that but scsi drives are more efficent dell is a remake pc off the back of ibm computers which is the best you can buy but dell are not the best to work on they dont like generic parts because of the way their programmedbest choice is use someone elses and the type for you will prevail good luck

It depends on what you are trying to do. The Dell has more options and compatibility but the Mac is easier to use. My friend has a Mac and her big issue/regret with it is that she can never find the software she wants for it. She also has to convert certain files to work from home.

Its said that anything running widows is more user-friendly because of the GUI. and for Mac, it is used more or media type things, so its great for that. I love both i have both a dell and mac, so if you are good at figuring things out, both are a good choice

The Mac is much easier to use, but some products still are not made to run on Macs. Depends on what you need to do.

Apple Advantages~ Takes up less space (no tower), easier set up (programs come on computer so you don't have to install everything), looks better, not as many viruses faster.
Apple Disadvantages~ Not many
Dell advantages~ not many
Dell Disadvantages~ bulky, MANY viruses and slower than mac.
