Walk around the house in them, until you get used to them.
I used to not be able to walk in them either, but I walked around the house in them, and now I can't run in high heels!!! No kidding!!

I have trouble walking in them, too. Heck, I have trouble walking in flat shoes. I had to wear high high heels to my daughter's wedding and while I found really pretty ones that matched the dress I wore, they hurt beyond belief! Make sure you get comfortable shoes - I KNOW they have to have some out there! I had to have someone help me get those shoes off at the end of the evening and I swear, my feet were actually numb for nearly 3 weeks! I never knew shoes could actually damage your feet if you wore them for one evening!
But, I must say, I did look great! lol
Good luck, keep practicing - if those models can do it, you sure can, too! Careful!

Practice at home! get like 3 pairs that you dont mind being messed up (say from payless or somewhere cheap) and then practice. I couldnt walk in 5 inch heels until i bought pair (my hubby thinks stripper shoes are sexy) and tried waling around my house- yeah i looked funny but now i am a pro- cant say i would wear them outside yet, but i am comfortable walking in them inside.
try with lower heels first and then gradually work your way up to a height that you comfortable with.

I've learnt that the more the high heels cost, the more comfortable they are to walk in! Anything less than $100 and you're asking for sore feet!

Small steps. Practice around your house.
Bring other shoes with you if you're at work/school and change into those to make it easier to get around faster.
Good posture helps. High heels can do a number on your posture and back so keeps your abs tightened and stay erect!
Oh, and don't step on a crack... it's not your mom you have to worry about, it's your own back!

Walk around in the when your at home doing chores or something. So if you fall, it's not embarrasing. Also try walking on the balls of your feet/toes and rely less on the heel. Because it's not sturdy.

Just keep trying. Are your shoes stilettos? Try with a shorter heel and get it down and go to the higher heels. Don't fall.

practice, try using smaller heels and as your ankles get stronger and more used to them go up just a few inches, walking in heels is almost a lost art, glad to see someone keeping it going.

Shorten your step. The heel/toe action is diiferent, and it requires you to lessen your stride. It also looks more ladylike.
