Well NC is an awfully big state to ask this question and then require that it not be a chain restaurant. Perhaps a specific city or county would be more helpful. My answer is Mickey & Mooch...and I got $50 that says you never heard of it because it's not a chain and it's no where near you!
That's like asking where the best place in Itlay to get pasta is.
