Of course not. College is not a waste of time no matter what and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. So you have a past. Doesn't everyone have something that they wish they could change?? Go to college and worry about your felony later. Most jobs only ask for felonies within seven years anyways and if you're honest and they see that you're genuinely trying your best, they take that into consideration.

depends on what you intend to do after you graduate.
Having a felony for robbery will bar you from some jobs, such as working at a bank, or with large amounts of money. It will not bar you from starting your own business of course. What do you want to do after you graduate? A university education is good, but for getting a job a technical/community college specializing in skilled trades cannot be beat. Combine that technical training with some courses in basic business, and you can one day start your own business, and be a free man.

No, it's not a waste of time. It can show employers in the future you have the drive to complete something you felt was worthwhile and it's putting you on the right track.
Fess up if there's a question about your past and tell them you fell to youthful stupidity, but now you've grown up.

Get an attorney and see if you can get it expunged from your record.
