bleach in your well will save you from this problem. just don't drink the water. washing is o.k. , but not for drinking.

Change your water filters. You should have at least one in the basement. We have a bigger house, so we have two. Also, check your salt level in your water softener. There are salts that are specific for hard water, they do work better. After the filters have been changed, run an entire wash load (without laundry in it), and run the faucets for a few minutes. The water may come out black at first.
I'm not sure what you mean by having your well worked on. Sometimes the pump may need to be replaced, and my guess is this is what happened, you will need to run your water for a bit to get it clear again. We never use bleach in our well, we were told not to do that. I wouldn't risk my children drinking it anyways, or ruining future laundry. I don't think it's necessary. Just running the water for a bit will do.
If that doesn't work, then call back the person who repaired your well. They should be able to help you out over the phone - and if a return visit is necessary, they should not charge for it.
I've had hard water my whole life, living in a rural area. I'm going to add another tip here. Get a clarifying shampoo (Neutrogena is good, otherwise get the kind from the salon for frequent swimmers). Use it once a week, or whenever you think you're hair is turning reddish from not changing the filter in time. Some people have harder water than other. Sally Beauty also has a hair treatment for hard water - most salons charge about $13 for it, but the kit at SB is about $5.

Personally, I would move. I couldn't live under those conditions. You can take your laundry to a laundrymat - as for showering, maybe get some type of filtration for the showerhead. You could also look into getting a whole house water filtration system put in.

You should have the water tested, to find out what you need to clear it up. If I remember right it's chlorine tablets. It's possible it may clear up on it's own after running it for awhile.

No Princess should have to put up with such nonsense. You should talk to your daddy, The King, and have him issue a royal decree or something.
Meanwhile, do your ablutions at a friend's house.
