***I know I KNOW, it sounds corny, but I used this lil speech, about the same thing, and I got my job! Your boss isnt going to think "corny" hes going to think, WOW ok this person just gave me ALL the positive perks about this product... hes a good persuader! We obviously all know selling a pencil is corny and retarded, but its the meaning behind the pencil that hes really looking for...trust me, i think you will be proud of your outcome.

This is a stupid interview question I was asked. Luckly I messed it up and gave myself a 20k raise on the next go round of job hunting. Here is the deal. You ask questions like "what sort of things do you do with your pencil. Go over feature advantage and benifit. The kicker is the close. You have to ask them if they liked this feature what ever it is and then ask. If i can demonstrate this product to its full ability and you are satisfied with the product would you purchase today. If they baulk then you spin the problem till they say yes. Always keep it yes no. They will hire you. After the interview is over tell that hiring manager to kiss your @ss and read an interview book. It makes no difference if you have a doctorate degreee or have years of expericence because the pencil is still a pencil. You either need it or you don't.

Tell him that you do not wish to sham him and sell to him the old pencil that he already owns. Tell him he wants an upgrade, the new and improved model of pencil - the latest and greatest in wood, graphite and rubber. That it make his penmanship longer and stronger, with more virile strokes of the pencil than ever before. Tell him you would be glad to demonstrate the 2007 pencil model just as soon as you have completed orientation and have begun your work for his company.
