It does. But glue only gets hard after it is exposed to air. Try emptying a bottle, and some glue will remain in the bottom and on the sides. Take the cap off and let it sit. You will have dry glue stuck to the inside of the bottle.

Because glue is aerobic, it requires contact with air to cure. A half-bottle of glue will eventually fasten to the inside of the bottle.

Anaerobic adhesives (like epoxy) would stick to the inside of the bottle that is why the components are in two seperate tubes and must be mixed together to use.

Because glue needs air before it starts to dry. The more glue their is, the more air that is required. If you leave the bottle of glue open it'll all dry up eventually.

because the container is air tight thats why if you leave the top off glue goes hard.
