Medical supplies like needles, gloves, and that sort of stuff are burned when they're finished using them. Because of this mercury gets emitted into the atmosphere. Infact 10% of all the mercury in the air is because of medical wastes. So, if it's bad to burn them, what should hospitals and doctors do instead? Or do you think that we should continue burning them and keep on putting mercury in our air?

PUT THEM IN A BIG BAG AND TOSS THEM OUT IN SPACE. actually, continue to burn them unless there is a proficient way for them to be... perhaps recycled.....

Maybe some really smart person can develope a way to capture the smoke when they're burned and somehow separate the mercury in the air from the clean breathable air and only release the good air into the atmosphere.
Come on people, there have to be some genius's out there. Maybe the aliens will tell us when they show back up in 2010.

I've never heard of anyone being negatively affected by the mercury in the air. There are all kinds of pollutants in the air. I suppose an alternative to burning them would be to dump them where toxic waste are but I think it's best to burn them because toxic waste can leak into the air or water so at least when they burn them they are destroyed.

well barrying them won't help either.....just polute the ground and water......maybe if they heat them up and break them down and recycle....other than that i dont' know
