how do i use circular needles?

i need to know simple directions but also details on how to knitt with circular knitting needles please help me mom mom doesn't think i can teach myself and i want to prove her wrong! help!

There's two ways to use circular knitting neeedles.
1) just like normal needles, except the ends are attached. In this case you would use it to knit something flat, like a scarf.
2) for knitting in the round. like when you make a hat:
a)Cast on a lot of stitches,
b)spread the stitches out so that you have the start of your cast on stitches and the end of your cast on stitches on either side of your needles.
c)make sure the bottom on the cast on, the part that looks like Vs, is pointed toward the bottom. It is very important that the cast on stitches not be twisted anywhere, if they are you will get a mobius strip.
d) Put the stitch you just casted on (the newest one) on the opposite needle, in other words, next to the oldest stitch you casted on. Then, knit the first and last stitch together. The is called joining, and it makes sure there's no gaps in your work. Now you can just start knitting, there's never any need to turn the work, you'll just be going around and around.
