Adding Photos is easy:
With your iPod connected, go to My Computer, click on the iPod (it may appear under drives), then click the photos folder. You can now drag photos from any other place on your computer directly onto your iPod. You can access these photos from the photos section of your iPod menu.
Adding Notes is awesome:
With your iPod connected, go to My Computer, click on the iPod (it may appear under drives), then click on the notes folder. You can now open notepad and type whatever you please. Now save this file, and then open the folder where you saved it so you can drag it directly onto the iPod.
-If you wanted to put a recipe onto it, this is where you would do it (you would just paste the recipe into notepad and then save it)
There is also an address book and calendar available for use, and you can easily find out how to use these through a simple Google search.
You can also add games and album art, and you can find quick and easy guides to these online.
Enjoy!

Wanna trick out? Dont go for an iPod. If you love something interesting, cool, buy an iRiver Clix. It supports music, pictures, videos, radio, recording, text and even flash games. But it max out at 2 Gb, which is not a lot. The good part is, it has a very nice, big screen and the Iriver Clix itself is not big. It's just $169 now. It's the lightest do-it-all device. It's really cool overall. Beside that one, U may want the Zen Vplus, which also do it all, but it has a not-so-good-and-big screen. The good part is, it's really small and bright and durable. Dont go for the big Video iPods or ZenVisionM. They look so big.
Anyways, if you want something to trickout, mp3 players aren't the best choices. Go for smart phones (like SideKick3) with so many cool things you can do on it. But they can't do as well as mp3 players in mp3 and videos aspects. And how do you do it? Dont worry, everything comes with a tutorial and a software. If it is said to be able to do something, there's a way you can make it do it.

You can't really "trick it out" it is what it is, and that's what it is. Nothing more.
What you can do on an Ipod nano is this:
Listen to music (14+hours worth)
Download pictures
Add contacts
Play games
Create notes.
And that's all I can think of at the moment.
If you want to get a cooler one, it's more expensive, but it's the Video Ipod. And you can play videos, and stuff on it.
Visit www.apple.com to see what you CAN do to "trick it out!"
I hope I've helped you.

You can download tons of pictures, watch movies, tv shows, home movies, and play cool games on the ipod video. The new ipod video now holds 80 gigs of memory so you don't have to worry about running out of space.
