Brick. Keeps the warm in and the cold out in the winter and keeps the cold in and the warm out in the summer. Also less chance of having the wood rot later on or getting termites. With wood you'll have to repaint it every few years but with brick there is no painting. Brick also stands up better to harsh winds (such as hurricanes or tornadoes if you live in that part of the country).

Well, everything is about cost. A brick home will always cost more than a wood house.
But if you live in a earthquake region, a wood house can stand more of the rocking and rolling than a brick house.

because the big bad wolf, and termites, cant destroy a house of bricks

seriously, brick houses are stronger and much less likely to require major structural repairs. I have seen foundations damaged by wood rot and termites in timber houses. And how many tikmes have you seen a timber home floating away in heavy floods?
