This weekend I'm going to be battling against my two brothers, who play this game. The squad is set at 2,000 points, and I have a choice of either Choas, Space Marine or Tau armies. Any advice, suggests as what I should opt for?

You need to determine what your brothers will be playing first, and then making your choice. If you do not have that information, I would have to go with the Space Marine army because your average Space Marine,and to a lesser extent, Chaos Space Marines, have the most flexibility when building squads. Anything you need, they can provide, long range anti tank fire of the Devastator squads, up close killing power of the assault squads, and a wide range of vehicles, and dozens of more options which give you the ability to react to anything they will throw at you.

Seriously I would use Tau, they rock, i collect them and not only play them but also enter the Golden Demon tournaments, this is a comp for those who make battle scenes and show them off and win prizes, this is a basic explanation.
I use them in all of my models, as they look great.
As an army they arent very diverse, yet they have a great range of weapons. Their troop choices are poor to ssay the least, but playing against Marines would be easy. as they could take them all out with great ease.

definately tau ue plenty of battlesuit and some tanks fire warriors are a wate of points and use an etherael not a battlesuit comm.
