Hi. Inertia. You start out rotating along with the Earth and when you jump you simply keep moving along with it. This is why most rockets are fired to the east. To keep the energy of motion.

I think it is important to mention that along with you all the items including the air is moving at the same speed! Obviously if you were on a car moving very fast and jumped you would slow down rapidly due to friction with the air.

The air that you jump into is movning at the same speed as the earth, so you all move together

you are moving at the same speed as the earth,
like why you can toss something to someone in you car, even driving at 100 miles an hour without it suddenly going 100, or stopping.

gravitational pull.....you may be "in the air" but you are moving with the earth by.....gravitational pull
