What formats are compatible with iPod video?

I'm getting an iPod video, and I'm wondering what video formats are compatible with it. .avi, .mpg, .wma, etc...? I know .mp4 is compatible, but what else? Thank-you ^^

P.S. Please only post if you have an answer. Posting "I don't know" is really annoying...

I have an ipod video. and you are right it's compatible with mp4 and from what i know that's the only one it works with but you are able to convert most video files to mp4 in itunes so almost all videos can be played in your ipod.

no windows files, just mpeg-3, .avi, mp3, and .aac files are accepted.
