Perfectionism - Psychologists find that perfectionists tend to be "all-or-nothing" thinkers. They see events and experiences as either good or bad, perfect or imperfect, with nothing in between. Such thinking often leads to procrastination, because a requirement of flawless perfection, in even the smallest of tasks, can become fearfully overwhelming. The perfectionist believes that the flawless product or superb performance must be produced every time. Perfectionists believe if it can't be done perfectly, it's not worth doing.

I have a sister-in-law that has been with her BF for 15 yrs and they still haven't got married they figure WHY? Everything is good the way it is! They have 4 kids and have bought a house and a condo together!! He may be thinking everything is good the way it is and doesn't want it to change whether it be good or bad, I guess what I'm saying is that feels secure with you and is comfortable! If you want more say so!!

4 years is a long time. How old are you? His age? Why even get married. Look at the statistics of divorce. For every 10 people that get married 8 get divorced today. If you push him he might actually get up and walk away from the relationship. Be patient. He might actually be waiting for the perfect time to ask you. My ex was like you. She couldn't wait for anything including me asking her to marry her. Now look where I am at. Divorced. 2 wonderful children. And no girlfriend.

He probably doesn't feel like the time is right yet. It might be frustrating, but you can't force him into it. He will propse when he's ready, and when he does, you will know it was the right time for the both of you.

Uhhh, 4 years is hardly impatient. Give him an ultimatum, and stick with it.

You know he is not financially ready.
You know he is still looking to find the right job.
You know he is doing this for you.
You need to wait!

Are you sure he's the one? Maybe if he doesnt have commitment on his brain you should find someone who does.
