The subject is Rockies and the verb is form.
I dont know if you know what a subject and a verb is so here are the definitions.
A subject is the object which is talked about in a sentence.
A verb is the action the subject does in a sentence.

In the sentence you gave us to help you with.
The Rockies are the noun...which is what is being talked about in the sentence
The FORM in the sentence is the verb because the Rockies are FORMING.
