If you have the intall disc, you will be directed to the microsoft site which will scan your computer to see if it is capable of running the program.
I personally will not switch to this trial version of vista because some of the programs I use regularly are not yet supported on this operating system.

Windows Vista requires a DUO Core Processor or Dual Core Processor....IF your laptop has this, you can run it!

it should say windows vista compatible, which in turn means dual core. if it doesnt than no.
