It is an XL now and i would like to get it a little smaller. Maybe a size smaller if i could. What is the best way? Its a sport shirt so it has my name on the back, will that shrink too?

Wash it and dry it in the dryer. It won't shrink your name.

If it's colorfast, meaning it won't fade, you can use the hottest water setting on your washing machine, but you might want to wash it separately in case the colors do run. Then dry it on the highest setting. It may or may not shrink if it's been pre-shrunk. Also, it's not like permanent press, so you'll have to iron out all the wrinkles. I don't know about the name on the back, but I don't think shrinking will affect that. Next time buy a smaller size.

Wash it in extremely hot water and dry it in the hot dryer at the hottest setting. Works everytime even when I don't want mine to shrink♥

The most you can probably do is send it through the dryer every time you wash it. Although cotton doesn't shrink as much as wool and plastic do, so you can't be sure this will have the desired effect.

If your name is rubbery or plastic, take care. Drying on high may ruin it. Hot water won't shrink it, it has to be the heat from the dryer. Good luck.

If it's 100 percent cotton, you can easily shrink it by washing it in hot water and throwing it in the dryer...good luck!

Hot water and or dry it fully. The name will only shrink in proportion to the rest of it. It will be okay....
