I was gonna say Ronnie Wheelans volley in the early 90's but grinning has eclipsed that with Sven. Maybe West ham buying Marco Boogers

It was 1994 I believe and the player was Colombian...scored an own goal, lost a bet for a drug lord and was shot and killed in Medellin, Colombia for it. The man was Andres Escobar !!

Thats got to be the most costly own goal.......although the one scored by Damian Francis at the weekend was almost beyond belief !!

Escobar gets my vote !!

Lee Dixon of Arsenal. He chipped his own keeper, David Seaman, from about 40 yards out and near the side line. Put it into the top right corner. Brilliant.

Inner Peace. To wake up every morning knowing that you are doing the very best you can in life, always showing kindness and understanding to others. Your material well-being is secondary. Be kind to others, and the world will be kind to you.
