It seems like this wasn't the worlds best kept secret....so, isn't holding the info until weeks before an election, just as bad, as not telling because you want to hold a seat? If "putting the safety of the "child" is th issue....
This isn't on just one party's hands. . .but at LEAST the Republicans won't be supporting Foley for another run.
Also, I don't think Bush will give him a pardon like Clinton did for the guy who had sex with an underage campaign volunteer.

Steve...WHAT HELP? He was counseled to stop with the weird emails....if at that point he denied anything else....what else could they do? If he is a pediphile, he needed to be booted out, not helped, but that is easier suggested than proven.

Not only have they withheld information that could have put children at risk for over three years they refuse to quickly drop it and move on, which is stupid because the FBI is going in and we will have something, probably right before the elections, so it can be on all of the channels all of the time.
This is going to backfire big time on the dems.
You have to wonder what kind of idiot is calling the shots on this stupid stuff.
BTW before people criticize me, I think foley is a dirtbag, but I also think clitoon is a dirtbag as well.
As an add-on, you have nothing but stupid people answering your question, they do not know any of the facts and are making statements that are just plain false. It must be laziness because the facts are readily availiable.
1) FBI reports no crime committed (I still find foley a scumbag)
2) No sex was had by the parties
3) The other person was of legal age at the time, not a child
4) Dem operatives have had the IMs for three years as the records show
5) Dem operative may have been blackmailing Foley, FBI hot on that item
6) Dem operative gave the IMs and older emails to ABC
7) Rep congress have no records of this and have not seen it before.
Those are facts, go check them yourself. I have to tell you, some of these liberals on answers are seriously full of it.

Why are you putting this blame on the Democrats? You might as well ask the same question about Republicans.
Although this might be true (and i am not denying it) the Republicans also knew about this before the Democrats could discover it. And Republicans didn't try to get Foley help early enough either. The Republicans should have taken care of this issue before it became public, so don't blame the Democrats for now using this incident to score political points.

What does that have to do with what Foley did? Why the blame game now? At some point, Republicans must accept responsibility.
We should wait until the hearings are completed (if the Republicans don't try to sweep the whole thing under the rug as usual) and hopefully then we'll know the whole story.

You recommend "implied" sarcasm, no longer "inferred." A speaker "implies." A listener "infers." And so a thoughts as what you theory "democrats/liberals were all about". . . you're incorrect, there, too. i will only communicate for myself, and those friends whose reviews i in my view understand, yet I honestly do no longer seek for for low age limits on sexual consent. And as a former instructor, i'm suited attentive to the folly of letting children make man or woman opportunities (regrettably, the way youthful ones are at present day, there is not any longer a lot "letting" to it). so a thoughts as being specialist-gay. . . suited, particular why no longer? it really is none of my business enterprise business enterprise what each man or woman does in his/her living house, as long as it truly is between consenting adults. very last, yet no longer least--the meant Democratic features you've listed have not some thing to do with the reality that Foley inappropriately abused his position & potential with those youthful adult males. He would probable no longer have had sexual kin individuals with those boys, yet he crossed an exceedingly authentic line between what's reliable & acceptable and what's scummy & immoral.

Well think again. One thing the Bush Admin seems to excel at is not requiring responsibility. How many people got fired after 9/11? If for nothing else than failing to submit crucial information to the White House. Not one person. 3,000 people died. And it's nobody's fault? What makes you think Foleygate will be any different?

Does this make what Foley did any less wrong why is it that you guys are having such a hard time admitting that someone in your party did something that is unethical and insist on either passing the buck or trying to throw that blame on Democrats.

Republicans have been in control of the house for the last dozen years. Therefore anyone complaining of a behavoir would probably have reported it to the staff of a republican.
And for your information, there isn't any information that reporters have seen to suggest that what Foley was doing was common knowledge to more than a handful of people.
Republican morals have shown themselves. As usual they don't have any when it doesn't benefit them.

If any responsible Democrats knew about Mr. Foley before now, I'm sure they would have finked on the turkey. Your attempt to transfer the blame to someone else {namely a Democrat} is very transparent and is not fooling anybody....

The information was released by the Justice Department, not the Dem party.
It seems like neocons are more concerned about the timing of this story than they are about the welfare and rights of the victims.
