Can someone find out where you live just from visiting there web page?

I went to a web page and it told me it was logging info about my location, what is this?

They can only trace you back to your ISP or IP address unless your fill something in on their web page.

Yes, they can. But it's against the law in most places. The most most sites will gather from you is your general location, such as "Iowa USA" or "UK". Some sites like to threaten with such things, so people don't spam their site.
