I get a decent amount of exercise, eat less than great, but am not horrible, work hard, have lots of life changes, but am feeling really out of whack (ie weight gain, skin conditions, frazzled, etc). Any books, experts, experience to help?

What you described sounds a little like a thyroid condition, or it could just be too mny life changes. See your doctor for simple blood tests. If it is your thyroid, then exercise and eating right won't help. Hope you feel better =)

It's a pretty general question, so I'll just copy and paste what I usually tell people who are having some depression. Also I think you should try turning your hot showers cold for a minute, several times each time you shower. I think you realize that diet plays a part, and I think it's bigger than you imagine. The following advice is mainly about diet:

anyone who is depressive should take a good multivitamin most days with a meal. while you are at it take a calcium-magnesium-zinc pill. I won't go in to detail here about why. just do it, it's not that expensive. also, get lots of beneficial fatty acids - the omega 3-6-9 stuff. you could take flaxseed oil and fish oil pills or eat lots and lots of olive oil. do shots of it. mmmmm.

then try getting lots of sunlight. get some vigorous cardiovascular exercise as often as you can. practise good posture and learn a little about basic yoga postures and t'ai chi warmups.

eat a varied very high protein, high fiber diet low in saturated fats and refined carbs. shun additives and preservatives. you want whole foods, not overcooked. eat green or colourful vegetables. eat tree nuts, eat fish, eat more fish, the more nutritious fruits (berries), herbs, and some WHOLE grains. don't eat sweets or drink sweet/sour drinks. instead eat fruit. diet really really really matters. it has a slow cumulative effect.

stay hydrated. this can be a matter of simply avoiding certain foods that dehydrate you. try to get plenty of regular, restful sleep.

that's all that comes to mind. you might wanna check if you notice any effect from ginseng pills. watch the caffeine, especially late in the day. good luck.

You should check your thyroid. Also your hormones may be inbalanced. You should be taking supplements. I recommend you check out the website ROEX . com and listen to their live show it's great. It has help me out a ton. I too was feeling the same way you're feeling until I started taking the products.

Could be caused by quite a few different imbalances: parasites; bacterial, viral, or fungal infection; mineral imbalance; stress; constipation. Your best bet to get to the root of the problem is a visit to a naturopath. You can check with your local health food store to see if there is one that they recommend. If not, you can check the web site below. They have graduates listed by state. My naturopath graduated from this program, and I respect her abilities and knowledge. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
