About a few weeks ago, maybe 2 weeks ago, my rabbit started getting a lot of white stuff coming out of his left eye...i mean a lot. Now, it's almost like he has an eyelid and it's really red and it looks swollen. What's wrong with him?

does anyone know how much it might cost to go to the vet? We've never had a problem before so we've never brought him there before. Is there a home remedy?

Nothing to worry about... It's just a common eye infection but it could get much worse if it is left untreated... Go to you're vet's office (leave bunny at home) and ask him for some some tetracycline or some teramycine... This will be about $15. Then take it home and (if the medicine is in powder form) put it in his water for him to drink... if it is in liquid form, feed it to him by mouth using an eye dropper.... also put some neosporin on his eye... it should clear up in a few days

THE RABBIT NEEDS TO BEEN MEDICALLY

You need to see veterinarian because bacterial infection is one of the most potentially dangerous causes. Of eye infections, you rabbit could have an abscess tooth causing this, the tear ducts could be infected, I can not believe you have waited this long to try to find out what is wrong.

Addition: Adding More As you update:

Call the a vet that deals with rabbit, ask the price as all are different, if it is more than you can afford, ask if you can pay half and make arrangements to pay off the rest, most vet will do this, U do it all the time, sometimes our vet bill is more than we make in a week check, Have-A-Heart could not survive with out the kindness of vet and a good payment plan.

The rabbit has an eye infection, one of my dogs had the same symptom, my dad just but eye drops in her eye. Take the rabbit to the vet just to be safe about it, it's better now than later.

get him straight to the vet, it sounds as if he has a blocked tear duct this will cause the rabbit discomfort as a lump develps putting pressure on his face. he will need it to be flushed. usually involves an anastectic and antibiotics. This is known from experience can be costly. I breed and keep several rabbits and have done for many years. is common in smaller breeds
