If a car is left in the road, and is going to be picked to be crushed, can anybody get it?

If the car is no more useful, and they are going to destroy it, can't I have the car? There are a lot of pieces that could be used.

it belongs to the junk yard for scrap....maybe they would sell it to you...call all the local junkyards to ask who lays claim to it....maybe even leave a note on it asking what they want for it

where i live they are stored in the impound lot,then once or twice a year they have an auction.
