The tiles are old, so the dirt is really ground in and therefore simple mopping doesn't work. Are there any cleaning agents that you would recommend in addition to sheer scrubbing that could clean these up? Thank you!

If it's really old and ground in .. you might actually have to remove the surface of the tile .. it has blended directly into the tile .. so you may not be able to get it out. Might be time for new tiles. But if you want to try .. pure white vinegar .. or Ammonia . Or Bleach. Do NOT mix them together. Just try each one at full strength seperately. Oh .. and use a hand scrubber ... with bristles on it. Not a mop. Good Luck ! :)

You can try scrubbing a paste of baking soda and water on the tiles with a stiff brush. If the baking soda is too abrasive you can use Soft Scrub.

Walmart sells a product called Mean Green, that stuff is wonderful...it's a degreaser but works on any surface.

Windex, believe it or not. Use the brand name window cleaner Windex. It is stronger than 409 or scubbing bubbles.
