I am trying to get a video off of my video camera onto one computer. There are two different settings on my camera. 1:memory chip wich only holds pics and 30 sec clips. 2:Some tape symbol wich records very very long videos. Can I transfer that video wich is on the tape setting to my computer?

I use the ADS DVD Xpress USB-2 video capture unit and the software which comes with it. I have transferred VHS tapes 2 hours long into my hard drive. A monitor screen lets you edit the pictures for color balance, brightness, contrast, etc.(and see the effects in real time). The monitor screen will show when you have come to the end of pictures and start showing snow, random bars, etc. Then just press the STOP on the screen. But I had to disable my screen saver, firewall and McAfee security programs to get smooth movies. Once the files are on your hard drive, you can load them back into an editing program, divide them into shorter film clips --- or whatever. My 1.5 Ghz computer made "jerky" action on playback, but my 3.2 GHz computer works O.K.

I googled this digicam and curiously to be a minidv camcorder. Minidv camcorders desire a firewire connection and not a usb connection. i could think of your instructor could comprehend that and tutor you. Your pc would possibly no longer have a firewire port, a good number of them do no longer in spite of the shown fact that i think of it truly is usual on mac. imovie is a mac software.

It could be the speed. There's usb 1.1 and then 2, which is a lot faster. That could affect the size of downloads. Or it could be the program your using.
