that islam has to cross before everyone agrees that it is finally time to take the gun out and put the dog down....

Obviously, killing 3000 americans IN AMERICA isn't the line.
Is killing your friends the line?
Your parents?
your children?
where is the line that ISN"T okay for them to cross?
Where does the PEACE crowd finally stand up and say ENOUGH?
IS there such an act that would bring an appropriate reaction from the PEACE crowd?
Or would they sooner die than defend themselves?

There are approximately 2 billion people in the world to follow one of the schools of Islam.

There are approximately 20,000 insurgents in Iraq setting bombs, shooting innocents, and killing US soldiers.

There are approximately 2000 people in al Quaida.

There were 20 people involved in the 9/11 attacks.

Obviously, we should go and start indiscriminately killing the 2 billion. Because there's a one in 100,000 chance that they might be an insurgent.

We should not stop looking for the perpetrators of 9/11. We should find them and put an end to them. But the vast majority of Muslims don't want war, don't want killing, don't believe in the type of militant Islam that fuels the Taliban and Al-Quaida. And the more the peaceful we inadvertantly kill, the more Al Quaida'a message rings true to the rest of them. This operation requires a scalpel, not the shotgun we're using.

I had a friend, a NYC firefighter, who died on 9/11. He had a wife and three kids. And I don't think he would appreciate it if we killed somebody else's wife and three kids in his name.

Unfortunately the world leaders are not willing to admit that we are in the middle of a religious war. There is "nothing to gain" by doing so. There is no land to hold, oil or other minerals to claim or any other substantial riches to profit by going to war. They will not put their power at stake for a principal. Bush is trying to do just that but is taking "heat " over the issue. The "peace crowd" can only speak because the freedom they use to say such things as they do, was paid for by those willing to fight for it. They will not admit it and are fearful that they may have to help pay the price someday.

One thing is for sure, republicans will drop their principles like a hot potato once they are threatened. 9/11 scared half the country into thinking it's OK to give up our constitutional rights! Republicans are pathetic, cowardly sheep who care more about being safe than being free.

At the first sign of danger republicans lay their rights down at the feet of authority.
