my sterio is doing absolutley nothing, i tried unplugging it 3 times.

OK, so you've unplugged it, then replugged it back in. Does any lights come on? (Circle the answers) Y/N
If No, then throw it away, its dead. If Y, then see if the wires are connected to the speakers correctly.

You may have just lost the driver for your sound card. Check your System properties. Click on control panel from start menu then click system .You will see tabs on this window. Click on Hardware.Now click Device Manager.Click on the sound, video and game control. click the soundcard and check driver. If it is missing you can update it or roll it make.
