You and I have similar thought patterns my friend. Think that all day long. Just can't seem to find that better thing yet.

Same here...
Or at least, I thought I would end up at a desk job, I just never thought it would be THIS type of office work...
But I am more interested in stupid office politics, such as why is hypocrisy and manipulation so evident in office life, and yet no one lifts a finger to do anything about it?
Why are the corrupted rewarded, while the hard and honest workers rewarded by punishment?
You know, the usual office politics...
Cheers!

Anyone who works over a desk or computer all day has my sympathy! How unfulfilling that would be. No rewards like my job. I work with EDT's. Emotionally disturbed teens, at a high school. There is always some kind of drama, or excitement going on, if it's not the paramedic's showing up, it's the police! So, no bordom or day dreaming where I work everyday! I honestly LOVE my job, the kids make it so worthwhile.

I know that I'm here because I make more in two weeks than I was making all month at my last job. Still I did go to school to get a desk job, but experience keeps me in these managerial positions with crazy hours.

If by the word "job," you mean "school," then yes! I freakin hate it in that hellhole! I'd do anything to escape from it! One time I thought it would be funny to do this, so I did: I started to cry in class (I was faking it of course.) Then the teacher asked me why and I replied, "I'm just so bored and I'm not allowed to fall asleep." It was so funny. That was eriously probably the worst school day ever, and I needed to say/do something at least semi-interesting. Today I got in so much trouble with my friends...once again. I get in trouble everyday! It's like, "Why am I here. I have other (better/more fun) stuff to do."

I also work at a desk and it's as far from my personality as one can get. I had to make some money though, so here I am.

I occasionally have thought that, especially in the beginning of my job as home support worker. I'd be sitting in a client's home "babysitting" an elderly person and suddenly think to myself "this is really weird...what have I gotten myself into?"

I understand! There's a saying that goes, " Here I sit at my desk. I have my coffee. My computers turned on and I am sitting up straight. Now what the hell is it I do here again?!" lol

Yup. Most of the time. I work in a hospital and I question myself mostly every shift.
