Does anyone actually realise that twins can be completly different? It is really insulting to be called half a person.

thank you so much for this question. i am a twin and constantly run into what your talking about. me and my twin are identical, but really look nothing at all alike according to almost everyone we meet, and we are different in almost every way possible. me and my twin aren't even all that close. i could go on and on forever about examples of this because it happens everyday but i think you get my point

Because singles never see us as anything but two halves of a whole. My sister in law never learned to tell us apart for years. She'd just call us "Twin".
I don't speak to my twin anymore. She called me worse than "half a person". She always called me her after birth and treated me like her private scape goat.

My 2 youngest brothers are twins. Experts say that there are stronger bonds between twins than between other siblings. My twin brothers have never been apart. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I think people can`t separate twins in their own minds completely . i mean we normally see one personality for one person, but in twins case, we see two personality for one person (because of their similarities our minds can`t differ them from each other completely.) so it`s a little strange for us to treat them as two separate people!

I have cousins who are twins and I never treated them anything other then unique individuals.

I think you're mad. I have never seen two people together, twins or not, and thought they were, or treated them like they were one person.

We tend to group things. Human nature. And it's not just twins, it's brothers and sisters, boys and girls, etc.
