I live in London and would love to move to New York, I'm saving my money and looking for jobs out there to get sponsorship for a visa. Does anyone think its a bad idea to do this alone because when I tell people I'm going alone they seem to be stunned at the fact that I would think such a thing......Help me this is a big decision!

I JUST MOVE HERE FROM PUERTO RICO AND IT WAS EASY BUT I MOVE HERE WITH MY MOM MY STEP DAD AND MY BROTHER BUT I HAVE MORE FAMILY HERE. I DON'T WANT YOU TO THINK THAT IT'S A BAD IDEA BECAUSE NEW YORK IS A GOOD PLACE AND IF YOU REALLY WANT TO REACH YOUR GOAL YOU COULD MAKE IT BUT IT WOULD BE BETTER TO MOVE HERE WITH SOMEBODY ELSE.

I think it would be fine to do it by yourself. People are probly just worried about you being all alone with no one to turn to or to protect you. I guess it depends on how independant you are and if YOU think you can handle it. I think you'll be fine. I wish you the best of luck.

It is a big decision, but if you're a responsible, self-sufficient adult, why not give it a try? Nothing risked, nothing gained.
